Understanding HCF and LCM
### Why do HCF and LCM matter?
* **HCF (Highest Common Factor)**: Used when you want to divide or share things into equal groups with nothing left over. (Example: A school has 24 boys and 36 girls — what is the largest equal team size?)
* **LCM (Lowest Common Multiple)**: Used when things happen at different time intervals and you want to know when they coincide. (Example: Two BRT buses leave Ikeja every 12 mins and 18 mins — when do they leave together?)
**The Golden Rule:**
* **HCF**: Take only the **common** prime factors with the **lowest** power.
* **LCM**: Take **all** prime factors with the **highest** power.
Core Takeaway: HCF is the largest divider (sharing). LCM is the smallest shared multiple (timing/repeating).
